SketchUp 2015

 SU2015

SketchUp 2015

is here!

In case you missed the news, the SketchUp team has announced the release of SketchUp 2015.  You can read some of the details of the new release on the SketchUp website here.

For us at Twilight Render, the big news is that SketchUp 2015 comes in 64-bit.  A 64-bit application means 64-bit plugins, so now Twilight Render can render in 64-bit mode, letting you take advantage of all your computers memory!  That's great news for the Twilight Render community.

You can find the installers here on our website under the Latest Version.

It's important to know that 32 bit (x86) and 64 bit (x64) can not be mixed together!  If you have an x86 program, you can only use x86 plugins.  You can only use x64 plugins with an x64 application.  Trying to use the wrong kind of plugin  will cause an error when SketchUp loads.

SketchUp 2015 comes in both x86 and x64 on Windows.  On OSX, 2015 only comes in x64.  Pay careful attention to which version you are installing and make sure that you are installing the correct version of Twilight Render!

This is especially important if you are using some kind of plugins manager, or migration assistant to move your plugins from a previous version of SketchUp to SketchUp 2015.  This will not work for Twilight Render.  The x86 version installed for SU 2013/2014 can not be used for 2015 and if you just copy over the plugins folder, you will get errors.

We always recommend that you just download the latest installer (making sure to pick the right version!) and rerun it.  That will always ensure your installation is correct, instead of using a plugin manager to do it.

You can find the installers here: Latest Version.

For Twilight Render V1 users, please note that we are not converting V1 to x64.  You will not be able to use V1 with 2015 x64.
