Re: Need realistic plastic (ideally ABS) wits SSS - please help
Thank you very much! I will definitely try it, as I have to do that rendering in the following days. Do you think using grayscale bitmap in Transparency channel? I was just playing now a bit with SSS to see how it behaves. Indeed is rather unpredictable.
Thank you very much.
Thank you very much.

Need realistic plastic (ideally ABS) wits SSS - please help
Hy, I am trying to emulate a plastic surface that has a very thin area (about 0.4mm or less) and there is a light behind (LED). As we all know, there is no 100% opaque material in this world, so any material, starting with a certain thickness would transmit light at some level. In my rendering i wan...

Re: Material settings no longer saved inside SKM ?
So, there is also no way to directly link TL materials to SU materials? Let's say that eventually I build a materials library that I have exported with KT for further usage... and I also have their correspondents as SU materials... Now, is it any way to directly link those, so after I applied the SU...

Material settings no longer saved inside SKM ?
Hello, If the memory doesn't play a trick on me, I believe that in some of the previous versions of SU, the material data was saved insite skm material (inside the xml file) and from there was parsed externally by twilight, because from what I remember, SU wasn't reading all data from the file. Anyw...

Re: Is it possible to change a Twilight Light's color via DC
If I only need a purely random color, that is just fine. But what if my colors have to be accurate, like the LED color temperatures, there are (white) LEDs from 2700K to 7000K. Unless I keep a note or I memorize each color, it will be difficult for me to adjust the color correctly with the exact mod...

Re: Is it possible to change a Twilight Light's color via DC
Well, here comes the idea of "instances". All instances of the same light should act like component instances. Change one, they change all. You want a light that is similar in properties, but different color, then you will have to make it unique, or to create another light, separate from t...

Re: Is it possible to change a Twilight Light's color via DC
So, you say there is no way to "collect" a color from a SU material and use it directly as TL Light color? Basically it would need just to read material's color and apply it progrmmatically, rather than requiring user interaction. Reading a material's color is easy using ruby. From there, ...

Re: Is it possible to change a Twilight Light's color via DC
The simplest way would be to link the material that TL applies to the Light Geometric Representation with the actual Light's Color (that cone for spotlight, or the graphical IES, the two intersected disks for Point Light). In this way, if the material's color is changed in SketchUp, it will reflect ...
