Yes, Rosetta is still required for macOS on the M-series chips.

Please provide some screenshots of what your scene looks like, your post-pro settings, etc. We can't help if we don't know what you are working with. In order to use Twilight Render on an M1/M2/M3 processor you have to use Rosetta.

Lights are separate objects and so that should definitely not be happening. However if you have a Component Definition with a light in it, all Component Instances of that definition will use that same light. It works the same as any other SketchUp component.
