These would be better if you plan ahead with materials knowing the render settings you will use. It appears you use Low+ render setting - which actually is a great render setting for these situations... but it has limitations. Low+ doesn't do well with specular highlights or with metals. I was testing material settings on the quick render, and really liked what I saw... but when I did the hq version, I was sadly disappointed. First time I've encountered such a drastic difference. Then again, I don't often use metallic textures... Aluminum Template adjusted to IOR 1 and Shininess 5 T...
