Hotspots vary when rendering

Post by danhr » Thu Jul 24, 2014 1:51 pm

Hi all,

I'm rendering an exterior scene with no lights and am using the "High" setting under the "Express, Easy" preset. Every time I render Twilight seems to put a light source in a different place, sometimes creating hotspots in certain areas, and always producing slightly different shading. My goal is to create a series of views (my camera is in the same place each time) where the shadows do not change.

Does anyone know a setting to change in either SketchUp or Twilight that I might change?

Thank You!

This is likely "light flares" due to optimized photon map/final gather settings in the Easy 1-7 settings. This can happen when only sun and sky are used to light a scene, as the settings anticipate more light than give by these two sources. If you need better photon map settings, please try creating your own.

The Animation Render settings do not show the light flare issue.

Or licensed users may use these bonus "flare fix" final gather settings which will eliminate light flares in most cases.
