Yup,... spoke too soon. That little square is still being generated by Twilight Render on my Mac (running OS-X 10.10.2),... it just takes a bit longer to pop up,... maybe after two, maybe three renders. It doesn't happen running Visualizer, just TW.

Are you sure you are using the most recent version? It shouldn't be happening at all any more.
