Stupid newbie question #614

Post by leedeetee » Mon Jun 13, 2011 8:49 pm

Apologies for the question, but it's late, it's been a long day and my brain is frazzeled....

I can't get my head round how I can make light emit from a picture light, like this:

Please could someone point me in the direction of a tut, or some literature?

Thanks very much.

Very much obliged.
The above is probably a stupid question. Thank-you for your patience.

Paint a material that is an emitter onto the face on a segment of your tube.
See attached .skp file.

Oh, just while I think on, I think I've got to grips with most aspects of twilight, apart from lighting.

Are there a set of lights (omni and spots) already 'set up' that I can play around with in my models? For example some of the spotlights I have seen have 'cans' in the ceiling, others don't and I am trying to figure out the differences/best results.

Thanks again.

mate, never worry about asking questions....heaven knows i have asked more than my fair share of them...and some of mine have been pretty dumb, and no doubt i have some more to come....!!

....it is easy to miss something that may cover your question.....invariably, when we are under pressure and frustration sets in, it seems even easier to miss a topic or tutorial....

....this is a very friendly site, people in here are very forgiving, and, as you have experienced, they are extremely helpful...!!!

@Massimo, thank you for that link. It looks amazing!

@Gareth, thanks for your reply, too. I really appreciate it. Glad to know that you're all friendly! I'd love to be helpful, but I don't know much yet!
