watercolour effect

Attached is a watercolour effect image based from a twilight render.
The process for watercolour is as follows:
export hidden line from sketchup, shadows off
render in twilight 5-6mins(interior setting-noise/grain dosen't matter)
import twilight render into fotosketcher (free to download)
overlay sketchup hidden line and fotosketcher image and play around with the image blending mode and different textured papers etc.
I know some people prefer photorealistic but sometimes a looser image is more relevant especially at the start of a project.

Very nice.
It is exactly the same as my workflow if I use NPR.
Fotosketcher is a great little program !

I like the look!

Downloaded the program to try it out...but have one question...
How do you "overlay" in fotosketcher?

Oh yes, beautiful watercolor painting  well done david and eric! I especially love it how trees come out so "realistic". Fotosketcher does a really good job on dwc.

marvins_dad, fotosketcher has no layer system for blending, you need Photoshop or something alike.

This inspired me to make a test if I could use only SketchUp for line overlays. (just to prove myself wrong by finding a workaround to get it done without PS)
It is not very convenient but it works ok to use the watermarks as layers. Bring in two images of the same size as your SU window, one Twilight render (pimped in Fotosketch if desired) and one lines only Sketchup export. You just have to overdo the color and contrast on the render, because transparency is the only blending option and the white of the lines export will take away a lot of color and contrast.
So what you see here is a SketchUp output not showing any geometry, only watermarks (just a test, branches look strange, model is from 3dwh).

David h this is absolutely lovely!

I'm gonna learn that style and use it for concept renders...

Also very nicely presented, you got talent dude! :D :D

Can you tell us about the model? It looks like and interesting design (addition?)

shura,
stunning picture  , though it seems 'complicated' to not do it in a PS type of program.
