Challenge Chair

Post by olishea » Fri Jul 16, 2010 4:28 pm

This is the chair I designed in the SCF 30 minute Speed Modeling Challenge. I drew first place and won a Sketchup book!

Been wanting to render it for a while! I uploaded a small version as original is way too big! I also added a little joke!

2000x2000pixels
Studio HDRI lighting
Ceramic material applied to backdrop (with noisemap for bump, 0.1 strength)
Satin plastic material to chairs, shininess 40. I used a seamless asphalt bumpmap for the surface texture lol, 0.4 bump strength
Interior+ preset left to cook overnight
DOF added in photoshop with depth render

Excellent work as always Oli. :whoot: I'm sensing the sub-divide tool came in handy.

Thanks it was very simple. But as someone over at SCF pointed out; its slightly asymmetric. which I can't understand so bit annoyed with it TBH.

That is rather odd. :! Well at first glance, you really can't tell.

cheers! glad you like it!

Here is a special one! I scaled blue chair so you can't see the asymmetry.
