Architect's Den
Architect's Den
Another project just for fun... I saw a rendering of a similar space and it inspired me to create my own. Easy09, 150 Passes. A little color correction in Photoshop. Still deveoping the scene, I feel like it needs something else. Thanks Alvydas for sharing the books, they are great. Any comments or suggestions are appreciated.

Re: Architect's Den
really excellent render
(looking for something to critique - very difficult) I don't like the color of the furniture base under the couch. (and maybe the dead-center composition is a bit boring?)
I would correct my slanting verticals in post-pro.

Re: Architect's Den
Very nice scene and render indeed! I would suggest you put some accent lights somewhere - replace the vegetation between the sofas with a floor lamp giving some reading light, maybe on the shelves. Also I believe the sofas are a bit too large, i. e. not scaled correctly, what is the height of the seating? They seem unbalanced in the whole scene, you have only wooden floor and wooden shelves on the left side of the scene, maybe a colorful rug there or some extra large vases would be in place. I would also put several art works on the walls and not a single one, or if only one it should be even larger.

Did you model the couches? If yes, I want a tutorial.
very good render

Re: Architect's Den
Thanks for the comments. I agree that the composition seems unbalanced and could use something on the left side to balance it out. I also think the shelf and the walls need more components/art.
JeZ, unfortunately I didn't model the couches... I would have no clue where to even start on something like that. I think I found it a while ago on 3dWH and saved it. I just looked again and have no clue where to find it. The couch model alone is over 33MB, so I'm not sure how to share it... any recommendations?

You can find that here together with many others free and great models offered by Design Connected. Oh and that wood floor looks familiar, I've posted an identical texture on Sketchucation forum some times ago.I just looked again and have no clue where to find it.
Re: Architect's Den
YES that's where I found it, I guess that's why I couldn't find it on 3dWH... Sorry for not giving proper credit for these great models.
And thanks for sharing the wood material, all I did was edit the tone and darken the image a bit and it worked out great.

You're welcome.And thanks for sharing the wood material
If you need a higher resolution version (2048x2048 pixel) with a displacement and a specular map, below you have the link. This texture was made with Bricks 'n tiles.

@Massimo:
Rather off topic. Why is your spec map bluish?
@JCA131:
I dont need that particuliar couch. Thanks anyway. I just would like to be able to model that kind of stuff. I guess it might work with Artisan
