Hello Timothy, these turned out very nice (despite a lot of the plants being 2d image planes). They are a nice style if you are communicating a design idea to a client. :^:

Some things I noticed:
(nice touch with the turtle swimming) but the water appears to be glowing.

Here are some great threads about water, most are from the Master List of Resources for licensed users
I would start with the first link below and work my way down the list.
  1. Subject: Realistic Water - Fast - in Twilight Render
  2. Subject: Pool - Quick Rendering with "fake" Caustics
  3. Subject: Procedural Waters (28) for Twilight by Majid

  5. Subject: Liquid In A Glass - How To Model Wine or Water - by Massimo (this may help, may not, with koi swimming in tank)

Hey Fletch

The plants are indeed all 2D image planes, this because as a landscaper i try to implement my plants as exact as possible towards the client.
Don't think ill find a database of 200 + 3D plants and those make my SU model alot more complicated :)

The struggle in this garden was indeed the water/fish tank/koi thingy.
I had only 4 days to find the idea for the garden, design, model and render it. So had to be a quicky :) therefore alle renders only had 30-40 passes and then post pro (overlay, levels, saturation, lens correction....)

With the links u gave me for the water i tried a new render today :)

4 days for design to all those renders is truly impressive, great work!

:! That is a challenging "look" to get, this outdoor aquarium. It looks dark here for some reason. Maybe turn off "cast shadow" for your water and glass. Make sure all the normals for the faces of glass and water are facing the correct directions.
