Here is a night render of a small house I've been working on. C & C is most welcome.

Thanks Majid :)
I just purchased Twilight and I'm just loving its simplicity, its such a great product, the developers should be very proud.

I like it a lot, Ben. Could you explain something more about the render settings? for example, is the sky an HDRI? where did you get it? render times? light and environment settings? Vegetation?... I really like the render and woud like to learn from you to be able to make something similar in the future. many thanks!

Hi Ibon,

Thanks for the comment. As far as settings go, I used preset 09. Indoor Progressive and left it overnight for about 6hrs. The sky is a spherical sky from the Hightressky pack which I downloaded from Kerkythea website, with sunlight turned off to avoid harsh shadows. Vegitation and birds are all done in post production in photoshop. I will post the direct Twilight output when I get home from work this afternoon so you can see what is done in post. The trees are a mixture of 2d cutouts which I have been collecting for a while from various sources with the levels tweaked to make them match the rest of the scene. I also used some photoshop brushes which can be downloaded from http://anarasha-stock.deviantart.com/ar ... h-32315883 (David H from the sketchucation forum kindly posted this link recently) I also applied a blue photofilter and tweaked the levels/ gamma in photoshop.

Hope this helps.

The sky image looks grainy and/or pixelated, and this image deserves better... hope you can find the same color, but higher res, because it seems to match the mood perfectly.

very nice work... there's something about the two trees on the left, one is very sharp, the other very blurry - they are successful in conveying depth, but perhaps the difference between them is a bit too much and is drawing my eye.

the birds look natural - well done!

Hi Fletch,

Thanks for the comments. I'll have to agree with you on those ones, that tree has been bugging me as well, I think I went a bit crazy on the blur tool. Also agree with the sky, I had previously looked for another one quickly but couldn't find one that had colours like the one I used, I do agree that it detracts from the scene though. I'm going to hunt on the web tonight and try and find a better one.

Really appreciate the comments, I'll repost once I've updated.
