House and Pool

Post by Fletch » Tue Nov 03, 2009 1:44 am

Far from a render "purist" I'm a big fan of 'photo-artistic' over photorealism... although I have a love and high respect for photorealism, I just don't get paid to do it.

Anyway... here's something I'm working on... not happy with the roof tiles... but client is... ;)

Great work. The closeup on the pool is very nice indeed.

Wow, amazing work Fletch! What do you mean, these renders are not photorealistic? You did the arrangement so well, everything seems totally natural. The lanterns might need a tiny reflection, but apart from that, it is perfect for me. Next level would be inserting the shadow of the photographer... ;)

Very, very nice. Where did you get that stone texture from for the compound wall and gate pillars? I have been searching for this texture for a long time.

Thanks in advance
With best regards

Hi Fletch,

These are great renders and highlight how adaptive Twilight is.

Can i ask the size of the bump on the wall entrance? And did you round over bevel the wall pillars, if not, why?

Sorry for being nosy, just trying to learn more!

that stone texture from for the compound wall and gate pillars?
I made it.
will share it with registered Twilight users when I get a chance... :wall:

I didn't bevel the wall... it's so close to the cam I knew I would just post-pro the jagged edges... which I did with the smudge and stamp tools... oops... just noticed I missed a spot... oh well, like I say, I'm not going for perfection on these images... it's for a rental magazine and will be so small that these details will never be seen.

best would be to use the depth mask and make some DOF to blur/blend it all anyway. :totgm:

this is a hi-res stone texture... but still not hi-res enough for this useage.... or just barely.

very nice.....they look realistic enough for me..!

.....i especially like the second and 3rd images

.....i have a theory.....foreground shadows add a critical ambience to an image, particularly if they are pointing toward the image
