Re: TwilightRender on mac?
I read your post about why use Mac, and the only thing i would like to say is that it is about a choice. I am not going to say
one is better than the other and i use both, Windows at work and Mac at home and happy with both.
So yes, where is the Mac version?

The funny thing is, that I'm currently working on a Mac myself and thereby I can't use TWR myself...
Well... I'm glad I have my computer at home... Then I don't spend working hours rendering models...
Aahhh well... To the more serious part...
Honestly, I don't know how far Chris is with this...
I'm aware that he have been working on it A LOT...
I'm aware that there has been many obstacles...
But I don't know how far away it is before there's a stable Mac version...
I'm sure Chris will drop a note about it here soon...
Cheers

hi flipya,
from my point of view, virtualisation is a work-around: it never is like the real thing. that being said, you nailed the point when saying that going back and forth between apps in different operating systems can become a nightmare.
so there isn't much to do except wait for the mac version.

I use Parallels which allows me to use Cad software right through the Mac OS. I can also control how little or how much resources for my windows partition to use. I started with Boot Camp and then installed Parallels and it took over my boot camp partition. If I need to I can still boot into windows alone (which i do to render out of twilight). You ask why go through this trouble instead of just using windows only? Sketchup on a mac runs very smooth is why, also the ability to have all the other iLife features, etc. that comes with a mac is priceless to me at this point.
I'd take a buggy beta version if we could help by giving feedback I'm volunteering.

Silence...
Re: TwilightRender on mac?
sorry Fakircho, but generally we do not discuss development issues or timelines in public.
Please don't take it personally.
Rest assured that we do care about Mac users. But working with mac for some developers is much like this:

that nagging question again: how is the progress of twilight's mac version coming along?
or perhaps more to the point, considering the time that has passed since we first asked this question: will there ever be one? you can tell us the truth. we are grown-ups and can take any blows...

I have had a go at all of the Sketchup render plugins now and Twilight Render wins! A beautiful program... and so easy to get right...
And now that we are heading towards Easter 2011, is there any chance of the mac version appearing before then, guys?
If you need beta testing I'll put my hat in the ring!!

No answer? So a mac version is off the cards then?
