Very interesting Oli. I do like the feel of the glow/darker image. Thanks for playing. :) Here is my redone model with some warmth added to the primary wood material and I slightly raised the light levels in photoshop (I remember how dark my original images used to look on my old CRT monitor and yes I still had one of those only until a few months ago :? ) with some slight desaturation and increased contrast. Thoughts?

Very nice, and a big difference from the first one. I would be more than happy with this latest version :^:

massive improvement!!

CRT?!! I threw mine out of a second storey window....and it didn't break; it just bounced I couldn't believe it! don't ask why! :lol:

a good tip for making more contrast and reducing saturation......duplicate layer....desaturate to black and white.....set blending mode to overlay....change opacity.

you can also add diffuse glow to the monochrome layer if you like.
