Sketch Models

Post by marvins_dad » Wed Feb 23, 2011 10:01 pm

I'm always working on getting my photoreal models on par with you guys, but I recently have started running low detail sketch massing models through Twilight for preliminary massing discussions with the client. This has become a standard for my office.
In fact 2 or 3 times now I have been asked by other folks in the office where I found the time to make a museum board study model...they just didn't realize the technique I was using.
Thought I would share some in case some folks were still using standard Sketchup output for massing models...this really gives it an extra dimension of relatability to the client since they are used to seeing realistic shadows - with little work on our part.

Thanks.
I think each of these rendered at about 1.5-2 minutes for a 1280x image at high+.
It was almost too simple, but reads much better IMO than a standard sketchup flat image with faked shadowing
