Suburban Garden
Suburban Garden
Putting aside the whole 2D vs 3D plants thing for a bit - any comments on this? There is a lot of plant material and different things going on because it's just that type of garden. Anyway - presentation wise - any thoughts? (I have some things I am questioning but I would like to see if others think the same)
Re: Suburban Garden
A nice image....leaving alone the 2D/3D plant thing
I like the lawn and gravel textures.
I find the area around and above the pond a little congested and possibly not indicating clearly [in this image] your design intentions.
And for what its worth, I would be inclined to make that pond area stronger and simpler.....but just my opinion

Re: Suburban Garden
Cheers Stu - the gravel, I think is from this site somewhere and the lawn is done in photoshop. This is not the kind of garden I usually work on. It is very traditional - big serious pottager section, lots of plants etc
Anyway, the last image was meant to show off the wall, here is the pond area ...and the view from the day bed at the back of the garden

Re: Suburban Garden
These look GREAT!
It may be the monitor I am using, but they seem a bit dull/flat. I think with a slight enhancement, they could be even better.

Re: Suburban Garden
Thanks Fletch - I agree that you have brought them out well there - what have you used for this? Is that just the high pass thing or have you done other magic to them?
Re: Suburban Garden
I used 2 settings from Topaz Labs Adjust Filter, but this is not necessary, just very fast/lazy.
I think anyone with photoshop can do a lot with the Post Production - Secret 1.
Or, in this case, you can get far by copying the image up one layer, and using high-pass filter technique to sharpen it a bit, then copying that layer on top of itself, setting blending for that layer to Multiply, and setting its opacity to 50%.

I guess I am going to declare this done now although I feel there is always more that can be fixed and I am sure that my photoshop stuff wasn't nearly as effective as what Fletch did in the examples above. Never mind - here it is

Oh yeah, and the Day Bed
Re: Suburban Garden
Lovely work, Dorfpunk!
Maybe just an "auto levels" in Photoshop or something, as long as they print well for the client, that's what matters.
