a passing cloud
a passing cloud
Just a test on the polycarbonate mat posted here in the material section with some modeled panels. Even if still a bit grainy on darker areas I find it fairly realistic.

Re: a passing cloud
Just a little noise reduction and a small color ajustment - what if is noisy, it can be fixed . For better results, a little more work on image would be necessary. I couldn't go more with reducing noise, because it destroyed the details. Maybe some blur where is still noise could help.
What about rendering time? How long did it took?

Re: a passing cloud
As I said was just a test and I was not aiming to a polished image, so only a quick color & levels correction was made in post pro. Sorry, but I have to say that I don't like very much your bluish-greenish version: I always want some magenta in exterior sunny shots.
As for rendering time it was left overnight.

Re: a passing cloud
How are the panels modeled? Did you model the cells or is it just a 6-sided closed solid?
Re: a passing cloud
I modeled the cells with thickness.

Re: a passing cloud
Whoa, very realistic, and I imagine the render times are quite long.
Re: a passing cloud
Yeah, was left overnight (9 hrs less or more). Just an experiment...
