i today bought a new computer becasue old one was weak ( i thought that so), ans soon will ask for registration number but.. i think there is somthing problematic on new machine.

This is sample from 2 year old 4 core AMD phenom.

here is result of default settings of bahaus lamp. 51 seconds.

and second one is form new computer.

AMD fx 6100K. 6 cores. 55. seconds! what now??

(i feel something wrong with power supply or cooling even if i install a nice cooler for CPU and for RAM. when i try to do progressive rendering machine decides to cut power and shuts down)

This sounds like a bad overclocking. :?
Check your machine stability by using Prime95.
Keep an eye on the current temperature of each core with RealTemp.

actually i did not do overclocking. but there is a stupid application called easytune for gigabyte boards. it seems it controls something. i removed it and it did not go off. to be on safe side, i took the computer back to store and they will test power supply and ram.

I now upgraded to an i7 2600K with 8GB of RAM overclocked to 4.5GHz.

Last time I tested was on my old PC, the time was nearly 3 minutes! Isn't progress wonderful?

That's more like it!
MartinK has same processor above, but render time is 26s :! This would indicate that Martin's processor is possibly throttling down during rendering. It could indicate that it is running hot. Zoom123 bove also shows 19s for the same processor.
Martin should keep an eye on the system, see if temperatures are remaining below 80c when rendering, and possibly run other CPU stress tests to verify that it is working properly.

Rendering the Bauhaus scene 3 times instead of only once is also a good idea for getting an average speed.

Fletch, I tried the test render again with a browser, Media Player & a backup running in the background, it took 22 seconds, so every free bit of processor power counts! :D
The processor has been tweaked up to 4.6Ghz (although it doesn't report it - running on trust here) with enough fans to keep things cool.
Thanks for updating my license so quickly over a weekend - appreciated.

Update.

I replaced AMD FX6100 6 core with FX8120 8 core.

Even it is slower in terms of GHz 3.1 vs 3.3 and since i overclocked both(8120 @ 3.8 GHz and 6100 @ 4Ghz)
New one did same render in 36 secs. I am now happier. (34% faster)

DO NOT BUY FX6100 for rendering purposes. paying USD 60 more is better idea.
