Clock Tower

Post by Enelbrecht » Sun Feb 26, 2012 7:48 pm

I found some pics of some sunsets while i was at the beach a few years ago. Thought i would try to work them into some of my older models. The clock tower is on the main street in the town where i live.

Thanks Fletch. If you or others would like, I posted the pics of the sunsets to share (they are not HiRes), on my Picasa web album. Along with all my other rendering projects. Some of the early ones are not so good because i was testing other rendering products until i made Twilight my favorite. Some, or i should say most are geographically located on the Google Earth 3D building project.

I like best "test6", the rule of thirds is almost there. I also like dark images. In my opinion the bushes on the left seem more real and must be repeated. The tree is noted a repeat of texture. You should hide the projection at the back of the clock. I don't like the black building behind the tower. :gj:

Changing with the rule of thirds. Eliminated the the buildings being projected behind the tower and put them across the street. in real life there are store fronts on both sides of Ridge Rd. Just had to put them there because without them, it looksed so barren, like a clock tower sitting in the middle of nowhere.

I like the composition of this one a lot!
Though... the light has something strange... the ambient looks too dark in contrast with the sky. Maybe you could render it only with that sky. Or is added in post-pro? As I could see, street lights dont't lit up when sun is on the sky as in your images. And even if they would, the light is not so pregnant, as is compensated by ambient light. Is it rendered on biased preset?
