Corvette Stingray Vision 2008 Concept
Re: Corvette Stingray Vision 2008 Concept
First render 2560x1600, 56 passes preset Easy 9, second render 1600x1200 80 passes preset Easy 9. Post processed in Ps to eliminate noise and a little light bloom (using Alex Hogrefe's tutorial on render image softening).

It's still that metallic grey made by Majid. Never changed it.LauraCristescu wrote:Mmmm..much better. My spidey sens is telling me there's something wrong with the reflections..but im not sure.

Really great start.
It must be like stacking BBs creating that though.
I'm more into rendering then modeling.
Twilight is great!

That last shot is looking really great.
The model where the windshield meets the body of the car seems like it could use some detail, but I've never studied/looked closely at the original car, so I could be wrong.
Since you are wanting to make a great model and renderings, I would remodel the fenders around the wheels so that there is no visible segmentation of the curves.
All the other work on the model has clearly helped a lot, and overall it's greatly improved over time.

Thanks. I'll try to re-smooth the whole fender because of those sharp reflections which are a little disturbing to the eye.Fletch wrote:That last shot is looking really great.

This is the real thing, except for the air intake near the door which is only in the concept design and looks better than the real one. The nose looks too brutal and stops the fluid shape of the entire car so I made it a little sharp and aerodynamic, same thing I did with the headlights, straight in the real model, a little rounded in my model, also the side windows are thin in reality, I made them a little thick to enlarge the perspective to the outside. Tried not make a perfect replica but with a little personalization and reinterpretation.
I modeled the original Corvette emblem finally. Also remade the rendering with HDRi shadow with PP. Rendered the Alpha Mask on 2560x1600 resolution, but still a small contour appears
Re: Corvette Stingray Vision 2008 Concept
use a dark photography screen background when you make your rendering, so that the anti aliasing of the alpha mask will not cause the halo effect.
get one from here and paint it flat dark grey: Studio for product shots: Photography Studios and Background Screens in SketchUp format
If your goal is to make some concept art shot then I think you are nearly there, but you will need to do a lot of post pro, and work with the color of your lights in your scene. Notice they have very strong cold blue back lighting and front-low-right a warmer white light. Then post-pro of the fog effects, cool background image, motion blur, etc.

Thanks for the tip I'll try my best to get a conceptual look of the next rendering I'm planning to do. Learned a bit about matte-painting in Photoshop and I'll see what I can do...Fletch wrote:use a dark photography screen background when you make your rendering, so that the anti aliasing of the alpha mask will not cause the halo effect.

All I can see is WOW. Great renders. Like the materials in the garage.
