Smooth curved surface

Post by Ron_Bruins » Fri Aug 16, 2013 9:28 am

Hi,

It has been a while, but recently picked up working in SU again, but I became a bit rusty.
I have a model (logo) in 3D, but te curved faces clearly show the separate faces, when rendered.

I know there is a way to smooth this out, but can't remember. :(

Easy one...
Explode the model and - if needed - re-group... ;)
Cheers

Tried that, no luck.

This is part of the problem, what needs to be smoothed...

In order for curved geometry to be rendered smooth it has to be in a group or component, and you have to smooth it within SketchUp (right click on the group, select Soften /Smooth Edges). It looked like, from your second picture, that you didn't have the edges smoothed in SketchUp.
