Lighting Test
Re: Lighting Test
those look surprisingly good.
chandeliers aren't diamond, they are crystal (highly transparent glass with a high refractive index: "a crystal chandelier")
1.52 is the IOR for "Realistic glass" template in Twilight. It is also the IOR (index of refraction) for Crystal.
So, just use the "realistic glass" template. Not Diamond Template.
I feel that the refractive index for glass should generally be closer to 1.5 when used with Twilight Render, but the "standard" is 1.52, which is very shiny glass, or crystal.
Diamond has a high refractive index (2.417), + dispersion.

Re: Lighting Test
Fletch it seems that diamond template doesn't use dispersion while the diamond mat in the gems library does (I don't know if in the latest TWR version something changed because I don't have it atm).
That's why I suggested to try it for quicker render. Agreed that the IOR is too high. A IOR around 2.00 for crystal should be right.Re: Lighting Test
Those last ones are real good!
Re: Lighting Test
This is correct, Diamond Template does not use dispersion. The version with dispersion is in the Materials Library of gems.
Re: Lighting Test
Ok, found some glass-Swarovski ior file on my comp downloaded from somewhere and made a material.
Didn't worked at the scene at all, just a very quick setup with a HDR. Rendered in KT for ease for 30 min.
How is the mat?

Re: Lighting Test
Very nice massimo
I used the Realistic glass template for this one at 24 passes on easy 10 Lights off different studio
This is the final render of the room. I am planning on putting the billiards table in here.

Re: Lighting Test
Set glass globes to sss lamp shade. 0 Alpha, Density 1, IOR 1.52
Point lights set to .005 light strength.

Re: Lighting Test
Thank you Kronox.
I did not make the model. It was made by a man named Kha Anh Tú but it was originally built for VRay 1.6. These VRay models have flat planes all over the place. I was originally deleting them, but then realized they were probably used for lighting, so I converted them into Light emitters.
I had to set the materials and properties as well as installing the lighting.
I want to remove the furniture and use this room in another project.
