Re: Trial #3....House and Pond
I think the thin warped glass really helps. I would move the camera a tad so that the tropical plant in the foreground is closer to the edge. This will help lead the eye to the house and not feel like you have to look around something to see the focal point. Also adjust the levels on the 2D cutout trees or remove them all together. The lighting on them doesn't match the rest of the scene.
Keep up the good work!

Re: Trial #3....House and Pond
the experiment continues with Thin Warped Glass...
....here are two more images to test the differences in behaviour of reflected surfaces, one with a dull surface applied to the fence and the other with a reflective surface.
I have also adjusted the time of day to test the response of the thin Warped Glass to a different sun angle. This is a test only, the sun angle isn't the one I would choose for a presentation.
The differences between the two are quite significant, and also they are quite different results from the image i posted yesterday with the sun coming from the other end of the building.
For me, this has been a most interesting excercise......there is much that can be learned from this, I think....!!

Re: Trial #3....House and Pond
I liked the first one the best. The new set looks good, but something is weird with the wood texture on the pergola beams. I liked the lighting in the first one with the shadows being cast across the beams. Also the corrugated roof is better in the first one.
I hope you don't mind...I did a little playing in LightZone to bring out some of the tonal contrast as it looked a little washed out on my monitor.
Solo's plants look great BTW.

Hi Earthmover......i don't mind at all, feel free to fiddle around with the images as you wish....your image looks a tad cleaner..
....i agree with the wood textures, they are a little dissappointing....i will have to search for some nicer materials.....that is on my 'shopping list'...!!

This is EXACTLY the people we created Twilight for! You've done a great job.Gareth wrote:simple "Design, do a model, select a few materials, pick a good viewing angle, and hit the render button" kind of guy
For any image, there will be hundreds of opinions on how to do this and that better... I just remember way back to design school and how the images with stronger contrast, sharper lines, generally caught my eye more than the others.
