Bracelet ?
Bracelet ?
Some late night fooling about with Vertex Tools and SubD resulted in this strange "bracelet" thing. Then it's hows Twilight going to handle a bunch of pretty small very shiny things ? Object is about 4" in diameter. NK Metals , Gold and Platinum applied in Deep Material Editor, studio HDRI for lighting. 50 passes Easy 10. About 3 1/2 hours on my iMac. Minor post pro in gimp and there you go....

Cool result with the vertex tools. Its always fun and interesting to see the result.
Re: Bracelet ?
Very cool, nicely rendered.
Re: Bracelet ?
that would make a lovely bracelet - great render!
Re: Bracelet ?
Thanks Fletch... thank goodness this one didn't require an alpha mask.

Re: Bracelet ?
Very pretty! Not sure it would be comfortable to wear, but it looks gorgeous. Reminds me a bit of some of the microstructures researchers have been playing around with for enhancing strength and minimising weight of materials. Good work with VT and SubD as well. Was that something simpler copied as an array?
Good use of Studio HDRI, too.

Re: Bracelet ?
Thanks SpookyChick. Just modeled the six sided star shape. Copied it and made the copy unique for texturing ease. Linked the two components to suit than copy / array. Grouped the one row copied up and rotated the second row and there you have it.

Unbelievable! I wish I could do so fancy organic shapes in SU...
Re: Bracelet ?
Thanks Horpah. No great mystery for this organic stuff. Main things just practice.
