dspace, i hope my prof feels the same, i need the grades to fight for my spot in 3rd year!
haha ;] i'm cooking a photoreal one at home as we speak, hopefully it'll come out acceptable

thanks for all the generous compliments guys :)

fymoro, you are right, i didnt notice it before but the tv cabinet looks much too big....gotta change that when i have time this weekend!

thank you for the tip fletch, it certainly brought scale to the audience.

and also BIG thanks to Majid for his tutorial, really helped me out a LOT!

On a side note, I lit the images with an HDRI AND the sun, the results were ok, but in the manual it says to disable sun when using HDRI (i read that after I rendered these =P) does it make a big difference? or is it more important on evening/night images?

if the HDRI is bright, Sun is not needed as the HDR provides enough light for the scene... as it's more of a guideline than a 'rule' you can get away with sun+hdr in some cases, but you may need to compensate by dropping the exposure... otherwise the two lights combined may be overly bright and you will loose detail in those 'sunshiny' areas.

someone turned off my comp when it was rendering while i was at school....-.-
so here it is re-rendered
this is after 35 mins,
i notice i forgot to add a gloss to the tv screen  sigh*

thanks for the tip fletch, luckily i read that before this render otherwise we'd have bright sunshine in the house and evening background =P (ok i admit, i did that yesturday)

does not highlight your design whatsoever... but it's a pretty good rendering of some furniture and a sunset. :)

i think its the mountain background, its too out of focus compared to the rest of the shot

i like the artistic feel/slight 'fuzz' of the renders though, nice :)
