Fletch, I was telling him how to make a bump from the diffuse texture, is that not how? by clicking the chain button on both the diffuse and bump?

I've seen the videos, and read the manual, I just don't retain visual knowledge very well :oops:

you are exactly right, but this is what I was reading:

This implied to me that you have a unique and particular bump map texture for that channel, not that you wanted to just link in the texture from the color channel. sorry for confusion.

IMO the head board would look much better if you just modeled it. not difficult and will look better than a bump.
