here is my first go at overlaying lines. its a style i've admired for a long time but havn't had the nerve to try till now, since i've gained a lot of confidence since Twilight has become my render choice.
any tips to improve the technique would be appreciated.

You (x)rok!
Would you mind telling us about the steps of the workflow?
I read about this overlay technic in several places but still would like to hear it from you

glad you guys like it.
here's my process (very basic):
render in
Twilight:
- render.jpg (112.87 KiB) Viewed 13536 times
change SU display mode to
Hidden Line. export 2d graphic from SU:
- line.jpg (78.53 KiB) Viewed 13533 times
open both in PS, copy and paste the SU exported image to a new layer inside the rendered image. choose
overlay as the blend method on the top layer, then slide the
opacity down till you like what you see.
PS, don't tell anyone how simple it is.

not at all. very nice. Gaieus, you seem to be able to get your textures (brick, stone) to look very rough, almost like displacement, do you have a secret?
BTW, that's not parallel projection is it?
