Looking for wood grain material

Post by richko86 » Mon Apr 26, 2010 5:17 pm

Hello,

I am a new user to TR and I am looking for some woodgrain material finishes. I have tried Color Picker tool but it will only select the color. Is there a template already that comes with TR for wood, if so which section is it in? If someone could point me out in the right direction in creating one or finding a template that would be great! Thanks.

If I understand correctly...

You have applied a material texture of Wood in SketchUp.
You want to know which Material Template works best for it in Twilight?

It would depend greatly on the wood you are trying to achieve. If you want it shiny wood, use the Plastic>Shiny template. Then increase shininess even up to 1000 or more to get the shininess you desire. You could also try the Paint Templates.

This is the exact "texture" of the material I am looking for after rendering is:

How can I apply this material to my drawings?

try this site for free textures:
http://www.cgtextures.com/
There are many out there. But you will need to also find a tutorial on how to make them into seamless textures.
Or you can try/buy some textures at
http://www.arroway-textures.com/en/products/wood-1
http://www.arroway-textures.com/en/products/wood-2

@ christinamary4 - any specific wooden textures that can't be found at http://www.cgtextures.com or http://www.arroway-textures.com...?? :?
You know that you can make your own wooden textures - right...??
Cheers
