How do you achieved the soffit lighting? Do you use the fake emitter? Is there a step by step to show how to achieve that?

Well, it's not a fake emitter. Fake emitter appears like it is lit, but does not actually cast light. It is done with a rectangle, painted with a color. Then I applied the Template>Emit to that material. Then I set the power of that emitter to be something like 1500 (just a guess off the top of my head at the moment).

This is a nice tutorial, and includes a scene that you can download and render, it should answer your question better.
