Balance
Balance
Glasses again... but Fletch gave to me a link to a site with some nice photo and here is my attempt of reproducing a funny one of those (only added the wine's drops mainly because I can't believe that you can build a scene like that without a dripping... ).
Easy 10 preset with 100 passes, but it was clean enough after 50. Only a cut of the image and a very slight sharpening in post work.
P.S. Please don't ask me if it's possible that they stay in equilibrium like that because I have not three identical glasses so I can't replicate the setup of the scene in real life.

Re: Balance
Wasn't expecting that one. Extremely well done. :jaw on floor:
That's just ... it's a "like" on many levels. The embellishment with the drops is a very nice touch.
Are you happy with the color of the liquid in the bottom glass? (I didn't like the color of the liquid in the original photo either.)

Re: Balance
Absolutely wondewrful.
Re: Balance
Thanks for comments.
Already made an improved and more refined model for glasses since it had some not perfectly smoothed curve. Fletch, I have also changed the "currant juice" ( ) with another mat hopefully with a better colour. I will post something later.

Re: Balance
Second shot. Improved models and, hopefully, wine's material in the bottom glass. The mat was made in KT with a dielectric glass with dispersion.
P.S. I hope you'll forgive me the lack of the meniscus where the glass is immersed in wine, but all those "intersect", "follow me" etc. with high-poly models like these it's a bit of pain...

Now that you mention...massimo wrote:...I hope you'll forgive me the lack of the meniscus where the glass is immersed in wine, but all those "intersect", "follow me" etc. with high-poly models like these it's a bit of pain...

Joking aside; I am really speechless. Not just because of the reality of the render (although that meniscus ) but also the fine composition.
Gai...
Re: Balance
This render is in a glass by itself.
(the new model really makes a difference in the refractions where the stem connects to the wine glass cup. )

Re: Balance
Thanks everybody.
Final shot. Added the meniscus where the glass is immersed in wine but, most important, deleted the wine's little surfaces in the intersections with the glass. So the refractions on the stem and the base of the immersed glass just above the wine's surface are correct now. Also cooked a bit more: 165 passes.
At the end I think that the image is fairly credible.
P.S. Gai, the composition it's not mine. As I said in the first post I've only tried to reproduce a photo.
