Sketchup 2014
I purchased Twilight a week or so ago and downloaded it to Sketchup version 8. That went well. Today I upgraded to version 2014 and cannot figure out how to move Twilight to the 2014 Plugin Menu. I've read as much as I could on both Sketchup and Twilight forums about this issue and have tried everything that was suggested and still no success. Any advice? I did manage to get "Plugin" to show on the top bar in Sketchup after downloading Sketchucation's Plugin manager but I can't find "Plugin" in Sketchup 2014's Program Files. Any advice?
Re: Sketchup 2014
There's no need to "migrate" Twilight Render from SketchUp 8 to SketchUp 2014. Just download the latest version from the website (http://www.twilightrender.com/index.php ... op/upgrade) and reinstall Twilight Render.
If you are on Windows, you will need to make sure you use the correct install path. If you previously had Twilight Render installed for SketchUp 8, it will probably default to the SketchUp 8 plugins directory. In the installer, there is a drop down list underneath the install path. Select "2014" in it and it will set the install path to the correct location for SketchUp 2014.
If you have previously tried to move Twilight Render to SketchUp manually, you probably want to delete it. If it wasn't placed in the right location, it could cause a conflict once it is finally installed correctly.

Re: Sketchup 2014
Yeah, it worked! I had already tried everything you suggested except deleting Twilight altogether. Deleting always makes me a bit nervous. But once I did. Everything worked just as you said. Thanks a lot.

Re: Sketchup 2014
select all smooth geometry and place in a group or component.
render will be smooth.
render will be smooth.
Re: Sketchup 2014
it works, while is a bit odd, aint?
Re: Sketchup 2014
It has always been like that. When we get the geometry normals from SketchUp via the ruby API, that's just how they come out. We were never able to figure out specifically why that happens.
Re: Sketchup 2014
Odd, BTW Thea is working fine, so maybe there is a solution...

Why do you refer to Thea...?majid wrote:Odd, BTW Thea is working fine, so maybe there is a solution...
You could have written Maxwell, Vray or any other render app...
It's the way TWR is handling the geometry and has nothing to do with other render apps...
Cheers
