Early days for this project and plenty more work yet to be done as we are still considering several different options.
The project will be located in South Australia's famous Barossa Valley wine centre and will be used for wine and cheese tasting, restaurant, art gallery and function centre.
Comprising 2 levels with one level below the water line (in part inspired by the Alicante University Museum by Alfredo Benedito and another similar project in Australia). The shallow pond surrounding the building reinforces the water harvesting of an adjacent winery and adds the obvious benefits of reflecting the building and a sense of relaxation.
If anyone has a good grape vine model, I would be keen to get my hands on it. The models will eventually feature the building being surrounded by vines.
These models are in the early conceptual phase and were rendered in approximately 6 - 7 minutes each using 07.High+AA4 to get them 'client ready' quickly.
I find that Easy 08 produces a nice result but requires several hours to render nicely.

Nice work, Gareth!
Is this an actual project that will be built?
Are you interested in comments on the architecture or only on the renderings?
We need to get some grape leaves added to the pack of leaves here...
Subject: Ivy Leaf Pack (and more leaves)
I think that can definitely be arranged. The vines will be up to you.

Hiya Fletch,
Both the Architecture and the models/renders are a work in progress.....so any comments/crits are welcome. In fact, the design has changed considerably in the past 24 hours.
As for the grape leaves, I reckon I might see if I can get away with the Geranium leaf for the time being....perhaps that might work when viewed from a distance.

Hi Gareth,
A couple of thoughts on the planting......
Your getting a bit of repetition with that foreground planting.
I often use a grouping [that can be repeated] that goes a bit like this.....Plant 1...reverse it for Plant 2....use Plant 1 again and scale it taller....use Plant 2 Again and scale it fatter. I find something like this can generally fool the eye.
Not sure about the Eucalypts in the background .....I'm the GREATEST fan of Andrews plants but they just don't look right to me there. They seem to be bit out of scale...on the small side... and I would suggest grouping one variety together in clumps...see above. Possibly some nondescript foliage in front of them?
And the Cordyline in the water planter?....nah
And one more thought.....do you need all that water?

Hiya Stu....long time no see. Hope you are keeping well.
I'll have another shot at the plants. 2D plants always seem to cause a problem even when I adjust size and flip them along an axis. Maybe I should also consider a few other species to break it up a little.
The water is only 300 - 400mm deep and a total volume of about 65,000 litres.....evaporation could be a problem though...!!

indeed, if saving water is an issue, sometimes a little water can go a long way.
