I wanted to reach out and see how everyone out there integrates people into their scenes. Normally I go the Photoshop post-production photomontage route for my renderings. Shadows are missing or need to be added but its an easy way to get the idea across. Does anyone render with people? Are they just flat Sketchup people or 3D people? Where are you getting these figures?
I have a client that wants to see people on the interior of the attached scene and I think the photomontage method may be very challenging. Any thoughts or suggestions?
Thanks!
Rendering Scenes with People
Re: Rendering Scenes with People
I tend to use 3D people to give a sense of scale & cast more shadows in the scene. Formfonts or the 3D Warehouse are sources. The advantage of FF is that the models are more optimised than some from the warehouse, plus they tend to show the models rendered in TWIL, so the output is more reliable.
For pure SKUP output, we, tend to stick to 2D

Re: Rendering Scenes with People
I use a mixture of rendering with 3D people - for distant people - and flat 2D photo face-me components for mid-ground - and pure photoshop for foreground people.
I usually end up going in and photoshopping over the top of the mid-ground and/or background/distant people... but at least there are realistic reflections in the floors and shadows on the surfaces already.
