Odd Light Setting Conversions

Here's a oddity I noticed when digging up old models when I was checking out the crashing issue I've been having. Latest version TW V2 pro. When opening older models that were previously rendered in V1 pro or earlier versions of V2 pro , my light power settings come across all crazy. Attaching a screen shot. Before I'm asked, I do click convert old data if I get the pop up window. Not a huge deal now that I know to double check light settings before hitting render. Just kind of odd they come across with such crazy power levels etc. F.Y.I. running macs, iMac w/ mavericks and macbook pro w/ yosemite.

[*]Improved Light Editor Power settings.
  • Users now choose between Watts and Lumens
  • When selecting Watts, users choose lm/W conversion (Efficacy)
  • The previous power calculations using Watts resulted in over-powered lights. The new editor uses corrected power settings.
  • Please note that lights in the new editor will be less bright than equivalent wattage lights using the previous editor (< 2.3)
[*]Improved Material Library Importer / Browser
- Materials Libraries are now automatically loaded and are easier to navigate and select
- To add directories for Twilight Render to search for Material Libraries, open the Options window and choose Directories.
[*]A preview of imported materials / Deep materials are now rendered in the Template Material Editor; Hobby users can now see a rendered preview of their imported library selection (Editing of imported materials still requires TW Pro)
[*]A brand new drop-down color editor with HSV, HSL, and RGB selections. OSX users also have a new simple color selector with RGB number fields alongside the RGB sliders.[/list]

:!:  ***WARNING*** be careful of installing this version if you have a current important project in progress that uses lighting materials or lighting objects as there may be differences in lighting powers compared to previous versions of Twilight Render V2.0. If starting new projects, there will be no issue, and you should love the way the new light powers and Kelvin color conversion works.

Are they crazy bright or crazy dim? Or is it just the numbers being displayed weird but the render is more or less fine?

Chris , when it happens they seem to be way too bright. have just learned to double check my light settings when I go back into older models. not a huge deal to reset them if needed just thought you guys might want to know about it. chuck.

We changed how the lighting data was saved (moved to lumens) and TWR is supposed to convert old data over to the new data. Obviously that's not working correctly for some of the old data. :?

At this point I'm not too concerned about the old V1 data. Eventually we just have to leave that behind and it's been about 2 years since the release of V2. However, I'm surprised the old V2 data is not converting over correctly.
As you say, the solution is just to open the lights and reset the values.
