Here's the light. If you look closely there's an inner sphere of very light transparent color just inside the shade. That can be removed for a better infinite reflection effect.
yeah, I just copied the real object as close as I could. It worked out this time.

Re: How do I make this lampshade?
I don't believe it worked as well as it has. Pendant starburst_Scene 1.jpg The outer material is Architectural Glass: Mirrored Glass, with a blue/gray color from SketchUp The inner material is Brushed Metal: Silver with this .png: starburst pattern with transparency.png The back side of the outer su...

Re: How do I make this lampshade?
Here's what it looks like IRL: It's set up like a mirror—the outside is smoked a little, and the inside is painted with mirrored silver and has holes or voids in the paint. Light shining through it makes the infinite reflections happen. IMG_1889.jpg IMG_1890.jpg I'm going to try texturing the inside...

Re: How do I make this lampshade?
I've built a similacrum, once I get home I'll measure it up to get the glass thickness right and redo it.
Will it be a texturing thing you think? Or will I have to make holes and fill them with some other material?

How do I make this lampshade?
I've got a cool pendant lampshade that has a holographic starburst pattern. Is it possible to set materials up in Twilight to use the inter-reflectivity of the glass to cause this effect?

Re: Twilight V2 and Skatter
OK problem solved. I reinstalled Twilight from a fresh download and got a new license code. Everything is working now. I had forgotten about the licensing issue I had before we went on lockdown here. All good now, thanks for everyone's help.

Re: Twilight V2 and Skatter
I'm sorry fellas but it's still not working for me. Here's my method: 1. open a new scene. 2. draw a rectangle, group it. 3. open Skatter Library, choose "short grass 01". Making sure that "Full Geometry" and "Render Only" are selected. 4. press LOAD to open Skatter dia...

Re: Twilight V2 and Skatter
Okay. So my Twilight License activation box is blank. Strange as I've been rendering every day since I loaded Twilight on this new compy. Incidentally, I was a backer of Skatter's recent Indiegogo. this version is full V.2 ... Might want to look under the hood and see if Twilight is playing nice wit...
