Sky Portal is a material type that you apply to windows or openings, not a background type.

If the issue is that the reflection is not sharp enough, you can increase the Shininess value in the TWR material editor. This will increase the glossiness factor and give a sharper reflection. You can go all the way up to 5000 (or more) for a really glossy reflection.

Go to Extensions -> Twilight Render V2 -> Options to open the Options window. Click on the Options tab and then click the Reset button to "Reset all saved dialog positions".

Twilight Render will run under SketchUp, yes. So in the Task Manager it will be included in SketchUp's usage. If you want to set the priority for the SketchUp process, you have to click on Details in the Task Manager and find the SketchUp entry. But the best way is really going to be to reduce the r...

In the last couple years, the number of available spherical images has exploded. Type "hdri environment image" into google and you will find a lot. HDRLabs has been a good website for a few years and has a variety of free resources. http://www.hdrlabs.com/sibl/archive.html

On Windows, Twilight Render isn't installed using an RBZ. It is installed by downloading the self-extracting .exe installer available from our website, running it, and following the prompts. Have you tried reducing the number of threads that you render with? If it's at maximum CPU usage, it probably does slow down other applications. But if you cut that to maybe half, I would think it would still be quite usable.
