Re: Old Farm House Kitchen

I believe the tiled floor is out of scale as the grout joints seem too wide. Using direct lighting would highlight features in the kitchen by the contrast created by such lighting. By the way, wouldn't this type of sink look better if not undermount but protruding above the worktop? Regarding the ve...

Re: Bathroom Visuals

Interesting plugin, thanks massimo!

Here is my version, tone mapping script, local contrast enhancement plugin, light rays brush painted on new transparency layer and switched to overlay mode, bloom script, all these in GIMP, then Shift_N.

Dan, you are getting better!

Re: Chelsea Apartment Kitchen

Is it possible to get that effect within Twilight?? Yes... :) Just use an IES as spotlight... Here is a quick test render at Easy 09 with some IES lights (it is fymoro's scene), No. 4 is the default non-IES spotlight. Would you be more specific how to get the sparkle/supernova effect when rendering?

Re: Chelsea Apartment Kitchen

Regarding the supernova effect on the downlights - it is fine in this picture, but the effect itself is not very versatile. You may find these brushes useful: http://www.obsidiandawn.com/light-beams ... mp-brushes. Adjust size and opacity and paint with white color.

Re: Chelsea Apartment Kitchen

Dan, here is my run on your render - added LCE and a little Bloom ( http://registry.gimp.org/node/6746 - requires Python). It looks more crisp to me. It turns out though that the eye and brain care more about small scale contrast than large scale contrast. Large scale contrast is that between signif...

Re: Chelsea Apartment Kitchen

Dan, I don't have the time now to write extensively but basically what I did is increase the local contrast which is not the same as increase contrast - http://www.photo-plugins.com/index.php?option=com_docman&task=doc_download&gid=1&Itemid=43 - adjust levels as desired, it is a Photosho...

Re: Chelsea Apartment Kitchen

I like the style and the modelling very much! Materials and colors choice too. I believe you could use some post-processing to improve the final result, something like the attached image, it would pop out the details. Btw, what is the distance between the chairs and the kitchen underpart? I seems th...
