Re: My first Bathroom

Love these last two. The hinge really sells it, lots of people would be photo-fooled if you cooked one 'till done.

The black drawer handle is a little jarring though. It wants to be porcelain or the same metal as the fixtures

Re: Not enough time!

I know how you feel, Ward. I find myself wondering which I like more, the modeling or the rendering. I've been using SketchUp since version 1.2, and I do really enjoy making models... but texturing and lighting a model is a lot of fun too! Seeing how a bumpmap changes the way flagstone looks is real...

Fletch, I was telling him how to make a bump from the diffuse texture, is that not how? by clicking the chain button on both the diffuse and bump?

I've seen the videos, and read the manual, I just don't retain visual knowledge very well

Re: Idiots guide or 'rendering for dummies'.

I concur Mike. I had the same experience with Viz when it came out. Should have put that $1800 under my mattress. That program was so dense and unfriendly that I never got a decent image out of it. I had started out with good old Lightscape—super easy to use and the manual explained everything so we...

Re: 1st test render (interior)

Tom, I'm not sure of the bumpmap's availability for being shared, it might have restrictions. Seems to me though, that if you have the texture, you should have access to the bumpmap. To link the bumpmap to the SketchUp texture just click the chain button in the Bump section of the material editor. T...
