in Twilight there is no AO pass that works in combination w/ materials as in some render packages.
the Ambient Occlusion pass in Twilight's Advanced settings was an experimental one, and is not well documented.

what Chris said earlier is correct, but perhaps the "key" point is simply this: Twilight renders the spherical sky as centered on the camera. So no matter how you move that camera, the horizon will always align with it. The "sphere" of the sky is a "virtual" sphere, and...

Tom, that last one is definitely the best image I've seen from you, and ranks high among most images I've ever seen in that style! (nice touch w/ the frisbee stuck on the roof)
