Advice on lighting

Post by nickcrush » Thu Jun 27, 2019 11:21 am

Can anyine advise how to use lighting to create more definition in a model (see attached image).
The model is using recessed panelled doors (panel set in by 10mm) but the cabinet fronts looks very flat in the image.
The tall panel to the left of the fridge shows how it should look - this is ok, but the base and wall cabinets are not defined.
I have tried several lighting positions but can't seem to get a good result.

Do you have bevel to the cabinet material with Twiight materials editor? or modeled bevel on the edges? That should help bring out some definition. Could the cabinet material be a little less saturated and dark and still be "correct" for what you're after? Do you have light in the room back near the camera?
