Fast metallic Texture

Hi,

Any ideas to create a fast metallic shiny or not so shiny texture? Using Easy 09 (08 for that matter). It takes many passses for the metal to look anything but black. Maybe I am going about the texture wrong (using default templates usually). The rest of the rendering may be OK and the metal is still clearing up. This could be for a less glamorous texture for some scenes, but at least looking shiny and the correct color.

The most important thing with metal materials is the light and objects reflecting into the camera.
NK Metals are the most realistic metals for Easy09 rendering.

For a fast "fake" metal reflective look with any color/texture...
Try:
Template>Perfect Reflection>High
change IOR from 1.52 (default) to 5.0

Instead of applying a basic template, choose "Tools>Import Library" and choose "yes" when asked if you want to replace the existing template material then look for "NK metals" from the list of installed material libraries that comes with Twilight Render. These metals are based on the NK values for the metals. These are scientifically derived numbers/values that are well documented. It is essentially a more accurate way to describe a metal's reflective properties beyond a simple IOR.
