Re: Render Farm Build for Twilight and Kerkythea
Awesome...
I've never played with network rendering myself, but I do see the potential...

Re: Render Farm Build for Twilight and Kerkythea
Well,
I'll be getting to that soon
In the meantime, I've taken the night (literally lol) to render a relatively large/complex model (1600x2400) for your viewing pleasure.
Credits As Follows:
Greg Schwartz, materials
Scene by Greg Schwartz and Team Twilight.
Kudos on the great work guys!
So on to the Render... If you don't know the specs of this setup - just look back at the beginning of this post. A few items to note... In order to get these things to fit within the Forum/Board filesize specs, I was forced to reduce the size of the overall image to 90% and save at a PS quality setting of 9 (believe me, I jacked with this for an hour trying to find an across-the-board save that would fit all these as close as possible to the original render). Otherwise (from the images you see, I've simply overlaid the entire Image (@ 50%) and a line of text to explain the time/passes. For those interested in seeing the raw speed here - this should do it for you. There is NO "EDITING" OF THE IMAGES HERE - NO POSTPRO OTHER THAN TO RESIZE TO FIT THE FORUM. However, for the Purists, here is a link to the FULL-SIZE, UNEDITED JPGS:
http://97.77.209.118:9500/saves-Jubilee.zip
For those that are looking to see the speed - here ya go (remember, these will be a bit lossy, due to the lower-quality save to retain pixel dims as much as possible)
