:welcome: to the Twilight Render Community
This speed test scene is intended for people to compare the speed of their machine to other machines on the forum, so that people can get an idea of how Twilight performs on different machines, and maybe help them when shopping for a new machine or to perhaps diagnose a problem with their machine.

1
You may use Twilight V2 Hobby or V2 Pro! Follow these 8 steps: :)
  1. Simply download the file attached at the top of this post which is READY TO RENDER, do not change anything.
  2. open scene in SketchUp 8 or later, and
  3. verify the render preset is set to "02. Low" and click the Render button. (be sure you are using Twilight v.2.0 or later)
  4. take screenshot of results and share them in this thread. (see attachment below for example)
  5. verify the render preset is set to "04. Medium" and click the Render button.
  6. take screenshot of results and share them in this thread. (see attachment below for example)
  7. verify the render preset is set to "06. High" and click the Render button.
  8. take screenshot of results and share them in this thread. (see attachment below for example)
2
It is very important in order for you compare your machine against other machines so that you can get a clear picture of your machine's render speed::
  • DO NOT change any settings or resolution before rendering. Just open scene, and hit Render with Twilight's render button.
  • It's good to render 3 times in a row, and take the average speed.
  • Free up as many resources on your machine as reasonable for the test. (don't run other CPU-intensive things like zipping files, processing video, or another rendering at the same time... but continuing to model in SU is fine)
  • Be sure the "fit to view proportions" is unchecked (this should be the default).
3
When the rendering is complete,
  1. immediately take a screen shot (on Windows = Alt+PrtScr, paste into image editor, save as .jpg) if you can of the final render window displaying
  2. the image,
  3. settings used, and
  4. time to complete for others to verify.
4
Don't neglect to render using Render Preset "04. Medium" and "06. High", take screenshots, and post to forum. This allows everyone to really get a good idea how the machine performs in short quick renders and in more challenging render settings.

Please also post the screen shot alongside your machine specs either by choosing "Computer>Properties in Windows" or like so:
cpu: core i7 3610qm(2.3Ghz)
SU2013 Pro on Windows 7.1
6Gb Ram

Our friend Alex Shura has kindly offered his model :rspkt: here of the Bauhaus Table Lamp who's design is often attributed to Wilhelm Wagenfeld (1924) and/or to Carl Jucker, yet the true designer is apparently in dispute.

Here's my go. Note my low speed same as Sorrentino despite twice RAM, slightly slower on medium, then some improvement on high setting

Has anybody compared the same tests with V1 and if so, what sort of speed differences are there?

If you think your machine may be rendering slowly, keep in mind that scene render speeds have been observed to vary greatly on the same machine after restarting the machine and rendering in a fresh session.
Feel free to render the original scene in V1 on the 3 settings to compare for yourself the speed difference between Twilight v1 and Twilight v2.

Just did the TWR1 v TWR2 test on a freshly restarted machine. Looks like an average speed increase of about 50%
