importing materials

Post by archturn » Tue Apr 26, 2016 2:14 pm

I'm new to Twilight and want to import materials. I can import into sketchup easily but it is not so intuitive in Twilight. I have gone to "options" and directories to designate a search path but this doesn't seem to work for me. I've downloaded some of the kerkythea materials but have been unable to import them into Twilight. What am I doing wrong

So a better question might have been "how to import new materials". I work with different wood texts and want to import my own into twilight

If you are applying textures within SketchUp, you simply apply any template, and add the appropriate bump map.

This "importing materials" tutorial is about importing full libraries of premade materials from Kerkythea.

For normal materials from texture files, you apply the textures inside of SketchUp, and apply material templates from Twilight. Check the tutorials in my signature.

Well, archturn, wouldn't you just put the texture file in the appropriate place in Twilight Template Materials window?

You can import the texture into sketchup but also you can import it into twilight by choosing "texture" for the "color" imput. and if you have a bump map you use "texture" for the "bump" input and then choose your file.
