I noticed ThomThom at the SketchUcation forum has created a possibly VERY handy script - especially for those who get handed models from Revit, or just poorly built models, in general.
Component Comparison
It finds all similar-looking components, that is, they have similar geometry, and replaces them with a single component definition. When importing Revit objects, many times you can have hundreds of components even though they are all identical, such as columns or windows. This should help fix that issue.
Great work, ThomThom!
His CleanUp Script is also indispensable for cleaning up Revit and other files.
Revit Users - handy scripts
Re: Revit Users - handy scripts
Thanks for the heads up.
I've imported a few simple SketchUP models into Revit to help with massing objects (I'm still struggling with importing 2D AutoCAD info on a vertical workplane for tracing sections), but have never seriously exported anything out to DWG, other than to check it can be done.
Thanks again.
