I would change the color of the emitter to be more accurate to real life.
The attached light is just white.

another version, with a spot light added below for more direct light, hopefully a bit quicker rendering.

These lights should be rendered with Easy 09, of course, as they are utilizing a lot of Light Emitting Surfaces which will slow down rendering in Easy 1-7.

One side of the light used a triangular emitter to reduce the number of lights in the scene, but the side using a full rectangular face emitter looks more realistic, so this was changed in the .skp file attached.

If you insist on modeling a light tube - just use a rectangular emitter plane, as in my experience the render times are much shorter, and the visible difference is indistinguishable.
