HELP with drive / asphalt texture
HELP with drive / asphalt texture
I find that the most unsuccessful material in ALL of my renderings is the asphalt or roadways. As you can see from this image the drive/asphalt doesn't exactly work with the rest of the quality of the rendering. Does anyone have a good asphalt material and what are the best Twilight settings for it?

Re: HELP with drive / asphalt texture
Well, it appears that it is simply too black.
Any diffuse color in SketchUp should be the color for that material which you would see when viewing it under a light flat grey sky outdoors. That is the basic definition of "diffuse" color.
So make the asphalt that color, and you should be fine.
You could try this texture, and tweak the color in photoshop, and use the Paint>Satin or Paint>Flat or Stone>Natural Twilight Render Material Template on the texture. Subject: Polished Concrete Floor - Hi-Res Texture included
Use the Architectural Thin Glass material in the Twilight_Architectural material library for your windows. Put curtains or blinds appropriately placed behind the windows for a more realistic look.
