Render Farm - Speed Comparison Examples.

Post by bradleyabbott82 » Fri Mar 02, 2012 9:02 pm

Here is a video of the new Render Farm. 20 Hours of Unbiased Easy 9 Rendering (Rendered in KT64boost, All Mats/Lights/Etc.. Applied by TL, Model in SU). This XML Scene is about 100Mb when exported. See 20 hours of Clearing in 20Seconds Timelapsed Video. As we all know, Metals are difficult to clear in unbiased modes - so I've "expanded" the metal top of the table to 200% in its own space to show the pixelation clearing over the lapse. As you can see, the render farm clears most of the noise in just 4-5hours with almost no change after that... Also Attached is an image of another scene in the same model rendered by a Core i7-920 @ 12 hours, and a comparison of the same scene @ 4 hours on the RenderFarm... As you can see the farm is still more clear at only 4 hours.

In an effort to test the overall speed and performance of the new farm (and make a determination on whether we should expand it to more machines) we are offering Select Registered users of Twilight Render FREE rendering of complex/difficult to render models that would otherwise take an immense amount of time. If you have a complex model that you would like us to render/test please PM me for details/instructions.

Thanks!
Bradley.

Another test...

10minutes & 30minutes & 110minutes
At 30 minutes the difference in noise around the cords, and the Gems is obvious. 30 mins on the Render Farm with a slight denoize would be fine to clear this model for 72dpi (at this size)... There is no post-production on the attached images (only the text overlay descriptions).

Core i7-2600k 3.8Ghz VS RenderFarm in short tests...

110 minutes! You have a lot of CPU power!

Hi Bradley,

I am interested in finding a renderfarm that can take care of some of my renderings so that I don't have to wait 12 hours? Are you or anyone you know interested and do you have any pricing information? I'm clueless in regards to pricing.

Thanks

This would be useful to know. :)
The above is probably a stupid question. Thank-you for your patience.

Contact Bradley via PM and he should respond to you about pricing/availablity/process.

I believe he has a render farm set up for Kerkythea. This means that any licensed user of Twilight can export their scene/materials and zip the file and send it to him for rendering on the farm.
