Corvette Stingray Vision 2008 Concept

Post by kronox » Mon Feb 04, 2013 4:11 pm

Since I didn't wanted to buy the 3D of it and since many of the payware models are done bad with wrong proportions, bugs in shapes etc, on the last Monday I've started to do it myself. It took me around 13 hours total work from the first point to the last polygon to build up the body then few other hours to model the windows, grill, headlights, tail lights, the little stingray mascots on the sides of the hood. The emblem on the back and the BBS rims are from the Warehouse.

100% SU modeling. Renders with TW. Here you go :

PP'd in Photoshop.

A hint for getting a metallic look to the car's paint ? Looks like plastic right now...

Hi Kronox, if you are a licensed user of Twilight, you have access to the car paints and much much more.
Kerkythea.net has many free materials available and they work with Twilight render. See the Tips and Tricks section of this forum. There is a master list there of all the topics you need.

The model looks incredible, a real labor of love.
Lighting and materials are all you need to master now. I can say this looks hundreds of times better than my first renderings. :rspkt:

Thank you. Soon I'll be working on the interior, maybe on vacation. Well it's been 2 years since I'm working with Twilight Render and it amazed me at that time and still does now :D I'm planning in buying it full when I'll buy a better machine to render with.

Here you go two renders with The Stig. Well it's not the Stig, it's the white version of Rinzler from the 3D Warehouse  I thought I might call the car... The Stig-ray

Thanks for the tip. Just made the KT materials work with SU. I thought they won't work, SU loaded kinda heavy first time after placing those folders in the Material folder of TW.

Really sad to see that you're using a pirated version of Twilight Render... :v:

Oops... someone had to notice :?

Reverted now to the demo version. Sorry. Just wanted to make the watermark disappear. I didn't sell my works, I use it in projects for the university I'm studying at and for portfolio renders.

Yes of course someone would notice it... What did you expect...?
Although that you're a student, I have very little respect for such things...
Did you know that you Can get a legal student license for only 59 USD...?
You're comitting a crime and turn yourself into a thief for this amount...???
Do you know that it's a very small and private company behind Twilight render...?
You're steeling money from a small private man...!
It's not a multi billion $ business or company... How do you think business and this application can get developed if there's no payment/income...?

Trust me, I know how this marketing thing works and I also mentioned that I will invest in Twilight at the same time when I'll buy a new machine. A thief ? Me ? Wow... the only difference is that it eliminates the watermark... not like it delivered full version resolutions and features.

I know where you're pointing and I understand and I did something wrong.

So.. what do you think about the project ? It's about improving our CG skills, doesn't it ?
